Work progressed nicely at our second park toilet refurbishment project.
After we’d set up on site, the first task for our team was to replace the timber frame windows. We carefully removed the old timber frames and then fitted the new windows so that they were level, sealed and securely fixed into place. Next, to help improve the security of the building, we’d been asked to add metal grilles, so we sourced these and fitted them to each of the doors and windows.
Meanwhile, our electrical colleagues installed new lighting inside the building. We then fitted wall cladding in the ladies toilets, fitted a new baby change unit and painted throughout the building. We finished the refurbishment with new flooring, where we fitted a dark navy safety vinyl in all of the toilet areas.
As with the previous park project, health and safety considerations were of utmost importance with the work site being in public environment. We had to ensure that all tools and equipment were kept away from the general public when not in use, that we removed all rubbish from the site and that the building was locked at the end of each day. The project is now complete and the facilities are open for use by park visitors.
