Our team has recently finished a project at a Norfolk primary school to fit hygienic wall cladding sheets throughout the school’s kitchen. We were appointed to undertake the project in order to improve the existing wall surfaces which were damaged. The project took place during half term when the school was empty from staff and pupils.
Our electrical colleagues joined us for the first task which was to isolate the electrical items that needed removing. Next, we needed to move any free standing equipment and furniture, in order to get as much access as possible to the walls. When this was done, we scraped each of the wall surfaces and then applied sugar soap to cut through grease and other stubborn stains on the walls. We then applied Zinsser to the walls, where required, to help ensure a strong, long lasting adhesive hold. We then cut the cladding panels accordingly and fitted them to the walls using a two part adhesive. Where necessary we applied joiner trims and corner trims.
We cleaned up at the end while the electrics were reinstated and then we returned the equipment and furniture to its original location. We handed the kitchen back to the school ready to use at the start of the next half term.
