Remodelling of School Toilets

Completed September 2021

We were appointed as principal contractor for a toilet refurbishment project at Cecil Gowing Infant School in Norwich. As part of the works, we were asked to remodel three boys’ toilet areas, to remove and replace cubicle doors in three girls’ toilet areas and to replace drinking fountains with wash basins next to the toilet areas.

Work got underway when we disconnected services and stripped out the fixtures and fittings from the working area.  The latter involved us removing all the sanitaryware, cubicles, flooring, tiles and some pipework.

Once the workspace was clear, we plastered the walls before altering and fitting new pipework to accommodate new fittings.  We fitted new sanitaryware and boxing to conceal the toilet cisterns and pipework in the boy’s toilet areas. We then installed the new toilet cubicles and partitions, followed by new wall cladding and washbasins, mirrors and soap dispensers. In the girls’ toilet areas, we replaced cubicle doors and fitted new ironmongery and locks. Once we had finished this we painted throughout and laid new safety flooring.

We completed the works during the school holidays and handed over the new toilet facilities ready for the Autumn/ Winter term.
