Office Refurbishment Great Yarmouth

Completed May 2023

We recently completed a refurbishment project on the sixth floor of a large office block in Great Yarmouth

The office was originally split into three areas and they all shared a reception space and toilets. However, when the floor became empty and the incoming tenant wanted to take the entire floor, we were appointed to refurbish the space, modifying it into an open plan office.

When we arrived, we set up all the necessary health and safety and welfare facilities. We also put a skip in place in the car park to accommodate all the waste that would be generated from the strip out works. As all the remaining floors of the office block were occupied at the time of the project, we had to bear the impact of our our noise and health safety procedures on other companies within the building.

We got started with the strip out works.  This involved us removing doors, the kitchen, suspended ceilings, air conditioning units, floor coverings, studwork partitions, glass partitions, window blinds, and various other fixtures and fittings. This then left us with an empty shell, aside from the toilets, to commence work on.

At this point our air conditioning colleagues joined is onsite to fit new equipment within the office and server room.  Our electrical colleagues also arrived to carry out the electrical upgrade works.  They installed a new distribution system, desk sockets, trunking, lighting, data points and a door access system.

When these works were complete, our team commenced work on the suspended ceiling.  We fitted a new grid and then added the tiles.  Following this we installed insulated stud partitions to create a series of meeting rooms.  Our painters painted the walls with light grey emulsion and anthracite grey gloss to the internal doors.

On the arrival onto the sixth floor upon exiting the lifts, we installed a large set of fire rated glazed screens to serve as entrance doors.  We also installed a new kitchenette and hung new fire doors throughout the floor.

To complete the project, our team laid grey carpet tiles across the length of the floor.  We then hung roller blinds, whiteboards and company signage before handing everything over to the incoming tenant.
