A client asked us if we could help move a mezzanine floor from one of their premises to another. They wanted us to take the mezzanine down in one location, transport and erect it at their main headquarters.
The original mezzanine was used to provide first floor office accommodation, so before we could take it down, we needed to dismantle the offices. This involved stripping out the internal walls, doors and windows, taking out the electrics and lighting, and pulling up the carpet tile flooring.
Once we had removed the offices, this left an empty mezzanine. We then started to take this down section by section. Since we needed to reconstruct the mezzanine elsewhere, we came up with a comprehensive numbering scheme to help us put it all back together again. Once we had taken everything down, we transported it all and worked carefully to erect it in its new location. Fortunately, the mezzanine went back together without and issue and is now used as additional storage in the warehouse of the client’s head office.
