For this project, we were back at Ellacombe Residential Care Home, a site where we have spent a lot of time over the last few years.
This particular project involved converting two bedrooms into ensuite rooms. In both instances, this involved knocking two neighbouring rooms into one, before reconfiguring the new rooms and building the ensuite bathrooms.
Once the main shell of the bedrooms and bathrooms were in place, we then fitted the bathrooms with new suites, flooring, door systems, as well as showers, screens and lighting. Moving through to the bedrooms, we refurbished the spaces, painted walls, installed new doors and laid new flooring. We also dug out new drainage systems and reviewed the electrics serving the rooms.
The works took place while the care home continued to operate, so we had to ensure we created a safe construction area that was cordoned off from the main house. The rooms are now finished and are ready for letting to incoming residents.
